Jane Titer

February 2, 1928 — March 19, 2023

Jane (Papahages) Titer, 95, passed away on March 19, just after noon. Jane was born on February 2, 1928 in Springfield, Ohio. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Jane was a trailblazer. She was a first generation American, born to parents who emigrated from Greece. Jane was married twice. The first to Elmer Ludlow with whom she had her daughter, Melanie. She delighted in her daughter throughout her life. After making the decision to end her marriage, she would eventually marry Gene Titer, the love of her life, who passed away in 1989. During all of that time she worked very hard across many industries. She owned two separate restaurants. She sold Tupperware and Avon. She excelled in her job with Wright Patterson Airforce Base, working shoulder to shoulder in a male dominated field. She would eventually spend her retirement years working at Laurel Hill tennis club and always enjoyed visiting with all the players into her 80’s. She spent as much time as she could with Melanie, her husband Tom, and grandchildren Alexis, Ryan and Mark. She was always excited to see her great grandsons, of whom she has three - Kellen, Brecken, and Flynn. She loved her family and loved to dance. She encouraged everyone to learn and speak Greek and rejoiced in being able to speak it with those who could. She was a night owl and the Hallmark Channel was a constant companion to her.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Katherine Papahages, her brothers Stephen Hages and George Hages, her husbands Elmer Ludlow and Gene Titer. She is survived by her daughter Melanie (Tom) Waggoner; her grandchildren Alexis (Eric) Noss, Ryan (Dariia) Waggoner, and Mark (Natalie) MacRae-Waggoner; her great grandchildren Kellen and Brecken Noss, and Flynn MacRae-Waggoner. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
