James "Jim" Pottker, Sr.

James R. Pottker, Sr., "Jim", 82, of Toledo passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on August 27, 2025. Jim was born on November 5, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, to June (Sharlow) Rozek.

Jim served in the Coast Guard and was a retiree of GM PowerTrain.

Jim loved golf, doing home remodeling projects, and spending time with his family. Whether he liked it or not, we were always there. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda (Moore) Pottker; his children, James (Charity) Pottker, Jr., Patrick (Heather) Pottker, Corine (Dana) Tyner, Kimberly (Brian) Tippin, and Lynette Shorter; his 15 grandchildren, Jessica, Dominick, Chad, Adam, Elizabeth, Sarah, Haley, Anna, Victoria, Amanda, Thomas, Alexis, Brendan, Shawn, and Bryson; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. Jim is also survived by his close friend, Charlie Poorman. He was preceded in death by his son, Dominick Pottker; parents, June and Dominick Rozek; sisters, Sue Sloan and Shery McCullough; and grandparents who he held dear in his heart, Otto and Helen Sharlow.

A celebration of life is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 6316 Swiss Garden Road, Temperance, MI 48182.
