James Carleton Kirkbride

James C. Kirkbride, 74, passed away peacefully at Aspen Grove Assisted Living in Lambertville, Michigan after complications from a stroke. Jim was born in Toledo, the youngest of 3 sons. He overcame several health challenges, was fiercely independent from a young age, worked tirelessly to provide for himself and forged his own path. He lived in La Salle at the family cottage for many years on his own. He loved spending time at the Lake near his home. He worked for several Monroe & La Salle Michigan restaurants over the years, where he enjoyed serving others and socializing with the people around him. He gave his all and sometimes pulled double shifts to keep busy. He loved music, built a large collection of albums and attended concerts in MI and OH with close friends and family over the years. He also enjoyed watching Detroit Lions football. He was grateful for the simple things in life, and appreciated what he worked hard for. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Willis J. & Helen Kirkbride, brothers Bill and John. He is survived by his nieces Kimberly Kirkbride, Kori (Kasia) Kirkbride, Wendy (Keith) Rusie, Sarah (Scott) Hurley, Susan Kirkbride and nephew Willis J. Kirkbride III. He also enjoyed several great nieces and nephews. A caring cremation was entrusted to Cremation Society of Toledo, Holland, OH.
