A beautiful boy was with sparkly blue Irish eyes was born to Peg and Jim Hayden on August 26, 1983. From a very early age he had an adventurous and carefree spirit. His bohemian traits took him on many journeys across the United States and abroad. He especially enjoyed his time working with young adults building trails at Crater Lake in Oregon. He was an avid outdoorsman and found solace in his second home, the woods. For several years his focus was on traveling and cooking until he met the love of his life, Abby Barshel. James and Abby married on August 13, 2005. His greatest accomplishment, his son Malechy, was born in December 2010. Nothing gave James more joy and purpose than being a father. James loved spending time with his family and he cherished his role as uncle to twenty-three nieces and nephews. Those who knew him will miss his most beloved qualities; his bear hugs, his compassion and kindness, his ability to love unconditionally and to forgive whole heartedly. Preceding James in death were his father, Jim Hayden; grandfather, Leo Gray; grandmother, Clara Hayden and his niece, Bailey Hayden. And until we meet again Mother Peg Hayden-Music and her husband, Jim Music; grandmother, Patricia Gray and step son, Eddie Sheets; sisters, Debbie (Wayne) Broich, Jenny (Chris) Maxon and Jill Hayden; brothers, Justin (Jenny), Joel (Erin), and Jude (Kristy) Hayden; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family Heather and Jenny. A private memorial service celebrating James life will be held Sunday, March 18 at 3 p.m. at the home of his aunt and uncle, Brian and Mary Gray.
