James Karl Dorfner, age 61, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at St. Lukes Hospital. Jim was born on October 4, 1947 in Toledo to Alfons and Almeda (Moore) Dorfner. He attended Webster Elementary School and Eastwood Hight School. On August 29, 1970 he married Patricia Wyckoff. During his life, Jim worked as a truck driver for Churchills Market and Strohs Brewery. He later opened his own business producing and selling fishing lures and other fishing accessories. As an outdoorsman he liked fishing, hunting, and trapping. He was also a farmer and had worked for local farmers from the time he was young and also while managing his own vegetable farm. Jim generously donated his produce to “Helping Hands” food service for the less fortunate and also gave it to his family and friends. Left over produce was donated to farmers to feed their livestock. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend, he will be missed by all who loved him. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Patricia; children, Jim (Cheryl) Corbett, Jeanette (Carl) Schulte, Jackie Corbett (Ray Galloway), and Johanna (Dan) Smith; eight grandchildren; and brother, Barry Dorfner. He is also survived by many cousins, friends, and his loyal caretaker, David Prey. Jim ws preceded in death by his parents and his brother Terry Dorfner. Arrangements are pending. Memorial tributes may be made to the family. The Cremation Society of Toledo has been entrusted with Mr. Dorfners care. Online condolences may be made below.
