James R. Coldren, age 88, passed away August 20, 2021. He was born September 17, 1932 in Vanlue, OH. Jim was a civil engineer, surveyor, and retired lieutenant colonel of the United States Army. He graduated from Toledo Scott High School in 1950 and the University of Toledo in 1961, with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Economics. Jim worked for the City of Toledo as a construction engineer and the City of Rossford as the public works director. He also worked for Busch Inc., WE Moll Engineers, and was self-employed. He was also co-founder of Indian Trail Caverns in Vanlue, Ohio. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Eva (Earley) Coldren; wife, Kathryn who died in 1982; sister, Nathalie Wisner; step-son, Woodrow Dodge; and after Kathryn’s death, longtime partner, June Bevilacqua who died in 2013. He is survived by his brother, Robert of Loveland, Ohio; step-daughter, Desiree Bevilacqua; as well as several nieces. There will be no visitation. A private interment will take place at Lee Cemetery in Vanlue. Tributes may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
