Jacqueline Bowman Hissem

September 19, 1952 — May 2, 2020

Jacqueline (Jackie) Bowman Hissem, 67, of Toledo passed away peacefully from complications of Covid-19, Saturday, May 2, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Toledo after a brief illness. Jackie was born September 19, 1952, in Struthers, the daughter of William and Kathleen (Quinn) Bowman.  She graduated in 1970 from Struthers High School where she was a member of the marching band. Jackie had a long career in the food industry which began with her first job at the Elmton in Struthers after high school and later at Denny’s in Boardman.  In 1990 she moved her family to Toledo where she continued working for AVI Food Systems and the Volunteers of America before retiring in 2015. Jackie was a good and honorable person who was dedicated to friends and family.  In January she moved to Ridgewood Manor where she made many new friends and where she enjoyed sharing stories and playing bingo.  Jackie treasured her time playing board games with her children and grandson.  She loved to read, watched General Hospital faithfully and found her iPad to be an endless source of information, entertainment, and communication with family. Jackie is survived by her loving daughter Kelly Deconda, her son Jared Hissem, and the love of her life, her grandson, Nolan Hissem.  She is also survived by her sister, Karen Mettee of Struthers; her nephew, William Mettee in Iowa; her niece, Melissa Mettee in Minnesota; her uncle, Stephen Quinn of Struthers and her aunt, Wilma Quinn, of Hubbard. All who knew her will miss her, her smile, and her kind and gentle nature. Due to the current situation with Covid-19, there will be no public services.
