Jacqueline A. Balusik, 75 years, of Ottawa Lake, MI passed away peacefully in her home with her children by her side on Friday, July 19, 2019. She was the only child of Jack and Grace (Smith) Amos, She was born on December 5th, 1943 in Toledo, OH Jacqueline married her devoted husband Joseph in 1968. They had 51 years of joy. Jacqueline graduated from Rogers High School (Toledo) in 1961.  She played tennis while at Rogers, and continued to play throughout her life. She graduated from the Toledo Beauty Academy in 1962 and worked as a hair stylist at the former Antoine’ Salon in the former LaSalle’s store through the sixties until her son was born; then she became a stay-at-home Mom.  She also worked for Alexander & Associates during the late 80’s until her retirement in 2015. Jacque was an avid bowler and was part of multiple leagues during her life. She was a member of Westowne Tennis Club for many years.  She also was a talented crafter who loved many different arts and crafts activities.  She was fond of cards, board games and puzzles. One of her prized possessions was the 1940 Ford 9N tractor her father owned. She and her family loved to spend time at their northern Michigan cottages in Indian River, MI and later on Brevort Lake near Moran, MI.  Jacque was a gifted fisherwoman, a skill she inherited from her father which she passed down to her eldest grand-daughter. Jacqueline leaves behind a home that was a welcoming place of warmth and love; a lifetime of adventure and memories for her children and grandchildren and a love of Michigan’s forests and lakes. Jacqueline is survived by her children Joe & Lynne (Khris) Shively; her grandchildren Alexis, Skyler, Kamron and Marisa.  She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and her parents Jack & Grace. Per her wishes, there will be no service or viewing.
