I Bill William Edward Stephens

William “Bill” Edward Stephens, I, age 65, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. He was born on December 18, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to William and Vera (Caldwell) Stephens. Bill was a devote Christian, becoming a Nazarene Pastor and in his latter years converting to Catholicism. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He was an Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed watching the games every weekend with his family. Most important to him was family; especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Downs) Stephens; his children, William “Eddie” Edward Stephens, II, Charity (Carl) Wheeler, and Noah (Tricia) Stephens; his mother, Vera Stephens; his sister, Joyce (Danny) Ferguson; grandchildren, Dale Hill, Aiden Stephens, Madison Stephens, and Austin Stephens; nieces and nephews; and many family friends who have always been around for him. He was preceded in death by his father, William Stephens, and close family friend, Marquis J. Mattox. Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio
