Howard Allen

March 15, 1955 — January 2, 2026

Oregon

Howard B. Allen "Howie", 70, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Howie was born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 15, 1955, to David and Elizabeth (Daniels) Allen.

He is a 1973 graduate of Clay High School where he was the kicker for the football team. Following high school, he worked at Ottawa Chemical for many years. Later in life he drove his own semi hauling steal before retiring. He also ran his own DJing business with his children for "Let's Dance Toledo".

Howard had a one-of-a-kind personality and lived life to the fullest. If you were ever present to hear one of his life stories, then you went on one hell of a ride.

His pride and joy were his kids and grandkids. He was fortunate enough to be able to enjoy vacations to Phoenix, AZ and Myrtle Beach with them. Some of the things his kids will miss most is watching football together, going to lunch and getting big hugs from him. He was affectionately known as " Big Papa " or "Poppi" to his grandkids. He frequently was seen at all of his grandkids sporting activities, band performances, and other various activities. He was also an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan.

Our father was rough around the edges, but he loved his kids and grandkids to the best that he knew how. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

Howard is proceeded in death by his wife, Debra; parents, David and Elizabeth; sister, Linda Weaver; brother, Mark; and son in law, Chad Vondran.

Howard is survived by his children, Jamie (Gina), Julie Vondran (Chad Reuss), and Josh (Brooke); his grandkids, Zack, Kean, Olivia, Paige, Maria, Jacob, and Chase; brother, Harold; and sister, Glenna (Jerry) Rife.
