Herta Huckaby

On Thursday, December 2, 2010, Herta Huckaby, wife of the late William F. Huckaby Sr. went home to the Lord after a brief illness. She was born January 13, 1928 in Karlsruhe, Germany to the loving Karl and Anna Spiess. She was a senior member of Amazing Grace AME Zion Church in Toledo, Ohio. She was one of 11 children, and is survived by two brothers: Werner and Gunter Spiess of Karlsruhe, Germany. She is survived by two sons, Lothar Huckaby Sr and wife Gaynell Huckaby of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and William F. Huckaby Jr and his fiance Arlene Hodges-Coles of Sylvania, Ohio. Herta is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in Germany. A celebration of life service will be held at Amazing Grace AME Zion Church, 1827 Oakwood Ave, Toledo, Ohio 43607, on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 6:00 pm.
