Henry J. “Hank” Slawinski, 68, of Temperance, MI, died March 11, 2015 in his home with loving family by his side. Hank was born August 9, 1946 in Toledo to the late Henry M. and Alice (Modlinski) Slawinski. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and an avid outdoorsmen. Hank was a passionate Michigan fan who enjoyed boating, fishing, and golf. He was a member of the Ottawa River Yacht Club and Outings Unlimited. He also enjoyed working on old cars, attending car shows, and the sporting events of his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Shirley (Lewandowski) Slawinski; beloved children, Timothy (Karen) Slawinski of Perrysburg, OH and Tracy (Bob) Waskielis of Bellevue, OH; and the grandchildren he cherished, Katy and Brady Slawinski and Jake, Sydney, and Jack Waskielis, along with many great relatives and friends. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 at St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House in Hanks name. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Hickman Cancer Center for their compassionate care and support.
