Henry Sampsel

January 16, 1942 — January 26, 2025

Henry “Hank" Sampsel, 83 years old, of Holland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, in his home. Hank was born on January 16, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Pearl Snyder and stepfather, Charles Snyder. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching old westerns on tv. Hank never met a casino he didn't like. He held many jobs, his favorites were the Toledo Metro Parks, Toledo Steel Tube, the Lucas County Library, and the Toledo Museum of Art.


Hank was a hardworking man and raised good kids. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda (Smart); three sons, Charles (Maribel), Patrick (Dianna), and Brian (Kimberly) Sampsel; one daughter, Pam Woodworth; two sisters, Joyce Schimmel, and Kay Dartt; 10 grandkids; many great-grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Hank was preceded in death by by his mother and stepfather; sister, Bonnie Snyder; in-laws Mary and Elden Smart.


A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.


Cremation services are being entrusted by the Cremation Society of Toledo, Holland, Ohio.
