Helen Irene (Meigs) Bobinski, age 81, of Waterville, Ohio passed away peacefully into the comfort of her Lord on June 27, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Clifton and Ola (Dearth) Meigs of Warren, Ohio and was born quietly at their home during a snowstorm on March 18, 1928.She was raised a Presbyterian, then converted to Catholicism. She was a member and teacher at St. Adalberts Catholic Church in Berea, Ohio, then a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church after moving to Saline, Michigan in 1998, and most recently attended St. Josephs Catholic Church in Maumee, Ohio. She particularly enjoyed the Christian fellowship of Bible Study at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waterville, Ohio. Helen received a BA degree in education from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio and completed additional studies at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Helen was a K-12 and special needs teacher and frequent substitute teacher. She was a gifted artist (founding member of the Berea Fine Arts Club) and porcelain doll maker (member of The Guild of Ohio Dollmakers). She was an active member of the Senior Centers in Berea, Ohio and Saline, Michigan. Recently, she enjoyed reading, woodcarving, wood burning, and visiting with friends. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandsons and family.Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard T. Bobinski, and two years later endured the tragic loss of her young son Wayne Leonard Bobinski. She remained a widow for 42 years and raised her children as a single parent. Surviving her are children Ola (Mark) Rosselot, Clifton , Steven, and Jon (Mary) Bobinski; grandsons Marshall, Mason, Mitchell, Jason, and Justyn. She leaves behind many loving relatives, special friends, neighbors, students, and her loyal Chihuahua- Mitzie Mocha.Helen will be remembered for her smile and the sparkle in her eyes. She has touched many lives with her optimism, grace, unconditional love and understanding. We will miss her constant need to rearrange things, her Do-It-Yourself determination, and her persistent desire to build a better mousetrap. She will be greatly missed.To honor the last wishes of Helen, no public service will be held. She will be buried at the St. Adalberts Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 or in Helens name to a charity of your choice. The Cremation Society of Toledo has been entrusted with Mrs. Bobinskis care.
