Hazel Olive Swartzlander, beloved mother, avid golfer and former JC Penney employee, died May 10, 2025 of natural causes at The Lakes of Monclova assisted living facility in Maumee. She was 100.

They had two children and settled in west Toledo. She worked in the J.C. Penney catalog department at the Miracle Mile shopping center on Laskey Road during the 1970's while he worked for the Toledo Scale company.

She loved to golf with her husband and they took numerous golf trips through the years. She loved to read, especially biographies.

Mr. Swartzlander passed in 2014. Mrs. Swartzlander lived with her daughter before moving into the assisted living facility.

A celebration of her life will be conducted this summer.
