Harvey Duane Soule died peacefully on July 6th at University of Toledo Medical Center. The family wants to express their deepest appreciation to the Emergency and ICU staff at UTMC. Their compassion, excellent care, and reassuring professionalism during the last weeks of his life gave Harvey the gift of death with dignity. They were awesome. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Alice (Stroh); sons, Lee Soule (Dorothy) of Euclid, OH and Scott Soule of Bowling Green, OH; grandchildren, Samantha Leigh Soule of Clinton Twp, MI and William Soule of Roseville, MI. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Opal (Root) Soule; sisters, Lousie Gubanc (Robert) and Barbara Hawkins (Larry). He is also survived by sister, Dorothy Jacobs (John) of Prescott, AZ; honorary brother, Nick Stroh of Toledo, OH; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and one very loving kitty, Shadow. Harvey was born November 2, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio. He was in one of the first classes to graduate Rogers High School in 1960 then attended University of Toledo. Harvey was a proud member of the Toledo Police Department. During his 26 year career with the TPD, Harvey excelled in many rolls and received various commendations, rising to the rank of Lieutenant before retiring in 1990. In the years following retirement, Harvey completed computer certification classes. He held various computer technology positions before winding down his working years with 10 years at Home Depot. No matter field he was working in, Harvey always managed to be a mentor and frequently called upon to serve as an instructor. Harvey was a proud Coast Guard veteran as well as a 50 year member of the Robinson Locke Masonic Lodge #659. Services will be held Friday, July 22nd at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo. The visitation will begin at 10 am in the church narthex followed by a funeral Mass at 11 am. A private Masonic graveside memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St, Sylvania, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Salvation Army of Northwest Ohio or Catholic Charities.
