Harold Yates

November 2, 1946 — March 11, 2026

Harold Yates, a devoted Christian, beloved father, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with Leiomyosarcoma.

Born with a spirit of service and a love for the outdoors, Harold dedicated his early life to the United States Army, serving with distinction as a Military Police officer. Following his military service, he carried the same discipline and protective nature into his personal life.

A man of strong Christian faith, Harold lived his life guided by faith and integrity. He was often found sharing wisdom, studying scripture, and finding peace in prayer.

Harold was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in the simplicity of nature. He was an enthusiastic fisherman who spent countless hours on the water, and he looked forward to annual wild mushroom hunting trips. He had a deep appreciation for the American West, spending his evenings relaxing with his favorite old westerns.

His greatest pride and joy, however, was his family. He was a loving father who cherished time with his children and grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by father, Charles Yates; mother, Stella Yates; and brother, Carol Yates.

Harold is survived by his two daughters, Vicky (Skenyon) Hansen and Deb (Jason) Krantz; his son, Jason (Miranda) Yates; grandchildren, Aaron Shelton, Alec Yates, Lydia Yates, and Ayden Riashi; siblings, Howard (Liz) Yates, Lynda Yates; and extended family, friends and loved ones who will miss his kindness, stories, and steadfast faith.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Harold's memory to the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation, https://nlmsf.org/.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
