Harold (Harry) Joseph Kreuz, 91, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away on June 9, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. Harry was born March 30, 1935, in Swanton, Ohio, to the late Wendell & Virginia (Langenderfer) Kreuz.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1955 - 1957. While in Germany, he won 5 corps open pistol matches. He worked for 17 years for the A&P Tea Company, managing various departments, eventually becoming store manager. He also worked at Lee Hilewick Food Broker and Nafziger Ice Cream. He then worked for Independent Dairy Ice Cream, retiring in 2000. After retiring, he started his own painting business where he had several repeat customers over the years.
Harry enjoyed bowling, often rolling three 300 games. He also enjoyed golfing and at the age of 81 had his first hole in one. Playing Euchre was also one of his favorite pastimes.
He was a member of the Swanton Nazarene Church where he served as an usher and greeter.
One of Harry's biggest passions was volunteering at Swanton Elementary School for the Backpack Buddy program. He proudly volunteered for more than a decade.
On April 2, 1977, he married Kathy Kreuz, who survives him. Along with his wife he is survived by his children, Marc (Kim) Kreuz, Kellie (Jeff) Worley and Missy (Dennis) Thornton; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and 6 siblings, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Matthew J. Kreuz.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Swanton Nazarene Church, 315 W. Airport Hwy, Swanton, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a service and luncheon to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Harry dedicated countless hours, talents and love to Swanton Backpack Buddies. Memorial donations made to Backpack Buddies in his memory will help continue the work that meant so much to him and honor the lasting impact he made on his community.
