Harold H. Brandman

On Saturday, June 25, 2022, Harold H. Brandman (a.k.a. Rocky) died at the age of 84. He was born to Peter Philip and Goldie (Odesky) Brandman in 1937 in Toledo, Ohio. Harold served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1963. As a young man, he worked for the Toledo Blade in the dispatch department. He worked for General Motors for over 30 years where he was a member of the Local 14 UAW. While employed at GM, he also was an entrepreneur who shared ownership in R & P Bike Shop and a mechanic shop. Harold was a member of the Elks and the American Legion. He was a past member of the Bay View Yacht Club. Harold loved the sport of racing and all things mechanical. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Jacqueline (Jacquie) Hanover. Throughout 63 years of marriage, Harold and Jacquie were best friends and soulmates. They shared many adventures together including raising four children (Fannette, Leslie, Haylee, and Kolin), boating, and competitive dancing. They enjoyed an active retirement in The Villages, FL where they resided for close to 20 years. They were World Champion Competitive Dancers who taught country/ballroom dance lessons for close to four decades and were known for being amazing dance instructors by all who took their classes. Harold was preceded in death by his daughter Leslie Cousino, his parents, and four sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacquie Brandman; his children, Fannette Ringer (Jeff), Haylee Kaiser (Chris), and Kolin Brandman (Anita); and his grandchildren, Justin, Miranda, Darcee, Corey, Carli, Kearston, Jacob, Hunter, Connor, Adam, and Rylee. He also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren. There will be no immediate services held, but a Celebration of Life gathering will be planned in the future. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
