Glenn Arvilla Osborn passed away on January 24, 2010 after a fearless battle with cancer. He never surrendered his life to the illness but instead used his time to live life to its fullest. He was born to Jane Skinner Osborn and Pharo Osborn on January 28, 1943. A graduate of The Ohio State University, he enjoyed a long career in marketing and most recently worked as Creative Director for Midwest Tape.Glenn was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by both his father and recently, his mother. Surviving him are his sisters Sharon Cameron (Carlo Battaglini) and Carolyn Orchid (Bob) and his children: sons Michael Osborn (grandson Drew Sean) and Mark Osborn (Angie), whose mother was Barbara Gager; daughters Sarah Osborn (Greg Noviski) and Laura Osborn, whose mother is Joan Osborn Van Gunten. In addition, Glenn is survived by various nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many special friends.Glenn had a zest for life and a passion for the arts. He was involved in architectural preservation as a member of both the Perrysburg Historical Society and the Landmarks Committee for the Preservation of the Old West End. He was the editor of Look Again, the committees publication. Glenn was an avid music lover who amassed an extensive and eclectic collection of music. He was a jazz aficionado who was also moved to tears by opera. Glenn was a poet and writer, and founder of Scrawl, an online writers forum. His works were published by the Melic Review, Writer Online, Toledo City Paper, and InkPot Review. The visual artist in him emerged and blossomed in the course of the last few years. He photographed thousands of flowers, mostly at the 577 Foundation, and used those images to create an almost endless collection of stunning photo-collages. His work was exhibited at the Paula Brown Gallery and the Hudson Gallery. He was awarded Best of Show at the 89th annual Toledo Area Artist Show at the Toledo Museum of Art. His daughter Laura Osborn said “My dad helped me find my place in the world”; and his grandson Drew spoke for all of us with these words: “Grandpa Glenn will always be in my heart.”Glenn spent his final days at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, a place that proved to be very special to him. He was surrounded by his family and close friends. A special thanks to Glenns caregivers at hospice especially Brenda, Cheryl, and Linda.
