It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald Clark "Jerry" Hodge Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Jerry left us peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Ebeid Hospice Center.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, on May 31, 1948, Jerry was the son of Ollie and Marian Hodge. He grew up in Sylvania, where he graduated from Sylvania High School in 1966. Always eager to learn new skills, Jerry went on to obtain a certification for Boiler Operator at Owens Community College.
Jerry served his country bravely during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he found solace and joy in creating with his hands as a skilled woodworker, and in exploring the open road on his motorcycle.
Above all, Jerry cherished his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 40 years, Cathy; his two sons, Gerald (Jerry) Hodge Jr. and Jason (Amanda) Hodge; his adored grandson, Aidan; and his brother, Bruce Hodge. He will also be deeply missed by many extended family members and dear friends.
Preceding Jerry in death were his parents, Ollie and Marian Hodge; his two children, Keith and Janet Hodge; his grandson, Gideon Lew Hodge; his brothers, Brian, Steve, and Cal Hodge; and his nephew, Corey Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to U.S. Renal Care or Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Jerry's memory.
