Georgian J. Phares

Georgian J. Phares was born in Toledo, Ohio to George and Frances (Kahl) Behner on January 25, 1925. She graduated from Scott High School in 1943 and married William H. McGinnis on October 25, 1948 and had three children. Georgian was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church and became the church secretary, which she served for 27 years. She loved flowers and always had a garden wherever the family lived.” Georgian was active in the Lutheran Womens Organization for many years and traveled a lot after her retirement. She is survived by her son, William (Katrina) McGinnis; daughter, Janet McGinnis ; daughter-in-law, Carol McGinnis; sister, Patricia (Dave) Eisinger; sister-in-law, Joyce (Dr. Harvey) Behner;” and many grand children, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Georgian was preceded in death by her first husband, William; second husband, Calvin Phares and son, Timothy McGinnis. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 4441 Monroe Street, Toledo, Ohio 43613. Private interment will be held at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
