George R Maschke

George R. Maschke, age 51, of Toledo, OH died of a heart attack at his home on February 14, 2022. George was born on October 20, 1970 in Toledo. At the age of 3, he moved with his family to North Central Ohio, where his mother and sisters still reside. During his senior year at Lexington (Ohio) High School, George enlisted in the Navy Delayed Entry Program. After graduation in 1988, he was accepted at the Navy Nuclear Power School in Orlando, FL. Upon completion of his studies there, he was assigned as an E4/EM3 Petty Officer to the USS Fulton (AS11) then to the USS Holland (AS32). Both ships were nuclear sub tenders. George served 4 years in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1992. Upon his return to civilian life, he was employed in sales for many years at American Freight in Lexington, OH where his initiative and sales ability earned him numerous top salesman awards. In 2020, George moved back to Toledo to accept the position of Closing Coordinator at Your Mortgage Group, where he was employed at the time of his passing. George was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vincent and Audrey Fall and Leonard and Alma Maschke; his father, George L. Maschke (Kathy); and uncles, Larry Fall and Bob Luda. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Zolman; sisters, Laura (Rick) Hazlewood and Sarah (Greg) Auchard; aunts, Nancy Luda, Jeanne Fall, and Ann (Mel) Galliger; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. George was an outgoing, generous man who loved his family and friends, especially his long-time friends, the Bob Boner Family and Linnessa Scott, his new-found friends at Center Court, and his faithful feline companion, Felicity. Funeral Services will be on Saturday March 12, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 303 E. High St. Mt. Vernon, OH. Family and friends will be welcomed at 10:30 am, with the funeral Mass at 11:00 am.
