George Robert Hennessy

George R. Hennessy, age 80, of the Point Place Community, passed away November 18, 2022 at Parkcliffe Community of Northwood. George was born August 5, 1942, in Toledo to Angeline (Bracy) and James Hennessy. George graduated from Calvin M. Woodward High School in 1960 and proudly served in the United States Navy directly after. George was a member of many veterans organizations, most notably the American Legion where he received his 50 year award in 2021. George loved hunting, fishing, OSU and Lions Football, Detroit Tigers Baseball and Red Wing Hockey. He worked for BP Refinery for over 30 years retiring in 2002.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Robin (Kovacs) Hennessy. Left to cherish his memory are his children Amy (Danny) Flowers, Todd (Cathy) Hennessy, grandchildren, Nick, Casey, Andrew Flowers, Nathan, Jillian, Erin Hennessy, and Blake, Brennan and Carys Kennedy. Great grandchildren, Ronan and Ryker Flowers.

In accordance with George’s wishes there will be no visitation services. A memorial dinner will be held January 7, 2023 at the Catholic War Veterans Post 5919 Teletowne Drive Toledo, OH 43612 from 2:00-5:00PM. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate George the way he would like it.

Cremation Society of Toledo is handling the arrangements.
