George "Tony" Decair, Jr.

November 30, 1963 — May 29, 2025

George “Tony” DeCair, Jr. a proud graduate of SHS and a proud member of the STFD #2, following in the footsteps of his late father as a dedicated firefighter. He also spent years as a tow truck driver and an over-the-road truck driver, known to fellow 18-wheelers as “Grape Ape.” When he wasn’t driving or putting out fires, he was starting them—as an instigator, a role he was likely most proud of.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, George DeCair, Sr. and brothers, Mark and Brian DeCair.

Tony leaves behind his wife and high school sweetheart, Tina DeCair. Some say he married her to avoid further punishment after running her over—nevertheless it worked. They spent the next 41 years together, a true love story.

He is also survived by his son, Greg DeCair (Amanda), and daughter, Kristie Lane (Rodney “Bud”); and his most prized treasures—his grandchildren, Lela (Trevor), Dylan, Savanna, Jase, and Georgia, who lovingly knew him as "Poppa." In addition, Emma and Hunter who also referred to him as their "Poppa."

If you knew Tony, you know he wouldn’t want a sappy obituary or people standing over him crying.

Tony will be brought home to rest with his wife and family. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

We ask only for your prayers for peace and guidance during this time, and to please keep his loved ones in your thoughts.

It’s never “goodbye”—just “see you later.”
