George Howard Brown of Toledo, OH, died January 8, 2018. Born in Glen Ridge, NJ on November 16, 1950 to George Hafer Brown and Pearl Geisinger Brown, George grew up in Rumson, NJ and was educated at MIT and Wharton. He worked as a math teacher and school principal in Philadelphia before beginning his career as a management scientist. In 1978, a job with Owens-Corning Fiberglas brought George to Toledos Old West End where he would remain for the rest of his life. His close proximity to Detroit paired with a skilled understanding of production scheduling and inventory control led to a long consulting career throughout the automotive industry. George served on the board of trustees at Maumee Valley Country Day School and was a member of the vestry at Trinity Episcopal Church in Toledo where he also sang in the choir. He was a Scoutmaster, musician, and avid runner who ran his first marathon at age 56 and went on to complete nine more around the country. George is survived by his three children, George (Angela), Mavia Haight (Andrew), and Melissa Rumsey (Mitch). He leaves behind five grandchildren, Keeva, Gloria, Enid, August, and Dessa. Also surviving are his sister Kathryn Pierson (Joseph Hardman) of Saco, ME and brother Douglas Brown (Deborah) of Clearwater, FL.
