Gary W. Virden

April 21, 1947 — December 3, 2021

It is with great sadness that on December 3, 2021, my Dad, Gary Wayne Virden received his heavenly calling. He was hospitalized earlier in the week at St. Vincent's with COVID-19. He was a resident in Toledo, Ohio at the time of his passing. He stayed on friendly terms throughout the years with his first wife, Deb Ireland, who also lives in the Toledo area and would assist with Gary's care. Gary was born on April 21, 1947 in East Liverpool, Ohio. He is the son of the late Raymond & Virginia (Wine) Virden. Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Gayle Virden and great-grandson, Lelind William Ireland. Also, preceding him in death were sisters, Ethel LaNeve, Julia Taubert, Edith Flanningan, Dorothy (Dolly) Warrick, Marilla Jean Thompson, Myrle Martin; and brothers, Curtis and Raymond Virden. Surviving Gary are his daughter, Emily (Brian) Brown and their daughter, Kireona; son, Jeremiah (Jakki) Kleinhans and their daughter, Juno; and grandson, (Crystal Virden's son), Devon Ireland and his daughter, Aliliana. Also surviving are brothers, George (Betty) Virden of Norwood, NC and David (Alice) Virden of Glenmoor, OH; sisters, Virginia Cochran of E. Palestine, OH and Carol Sue Williams of E. Liverpool, OH. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. In his younger years, Gary enjoyed hunting & fishing, especially coon hunting. He's had several prize winning hunting dogs and belonged to many hunting clubs throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed his days with his daughter & granddaughter, not to mention the discussions he's had with his son-in-law. Gary will be missed by the many who loved and knew him. We will always carry your memory in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the staff at St. Vincent's Hospital. Special thanks to the staff for taking care of my Dad in his final days. We will always love and miss you Dad.
