Gail S. (Cook) Smith, age 53, of Fremont died Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Edgewood Rehabilitation Center.

She was born June 21, 1972 in Fremont to the late Danny L. Cook and Patricia A. (Rupp) Cook.

She was a graduate of Clyde High School, Ohio Business College, in Sandusky, Ohio and received a Degree in AAS in Medical Billing and Coding. She retired as a Hairstylist from L.A. Hair Design after many years and health Issues. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, girls night out with her two best friends, Lorrie and Wendy, dancing, and going on vacations, especially to Tennessee. 

She is survived by her husband, Craig J. Smith, and son, Peyton J. Smith of Fremont, Ohio; sister, Amy (Daniel) Shepherd, of Monclova; brother, Mathew (Denise) Cook of Sandusky, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, father, Danny LaMar Cook, in 2002 and mother, Patricia A. (Rupp) Cook, in 2014.

A Celebration of Life Event will be held on April 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the American Legion in Green Springs, Ohio.
