Frederick T. Guy, Jr.

Dr. Frederick T. Guy, Jr., DDS of Toledo Ohio was born in Little Rock Arkansas on January 11, 1930 to Frederick T. Guy, Sr. and Nokomis Hampton and passed away in Toledo, Ohio on December 28, 2020. He Graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta Georgia where he met his wife Altoise who was a student attending Spelmen College also in Atlanta Georgia. Dr. Guy was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. After a brief stint in the Army during the Korean War Dr. Guy attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Guy moved to Toledo, Ohio in the early 1960’s and was a prominent dentist within the community for forty years. Dr. Guy felt strongly about service to the community and was a Board Member for what was known as the Lucas County Board of Mental Retardation and later on the board of the Ann Grady Center. Dr. Guy was passionate about all things mechanical. He and his friends participated in automobile racing with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) during the 1960’s and 1970’s. Dr. Guy was a private pilot and a former member of Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 582 (EAA 582) located at Toledo Executive Airport. Dr. Guy was also a recreational sailor and scuba diver. He is survived by his wife Altoise his two sons Frederick T. Guy, III also known as Chip and Alan Guy. He was preceded in death by his adopted daughter Shelly Guy. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta Georgia. The family requests that any tributes or contributions be directed to the Anne Grady Center of Toledo.
