Frederick “Fred” Merlin Anderson Jr., aged 56 of Waterville passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 17, 2023. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death. He was born on March 20, 1967 in Toledo, OH to Sharon (Nelson) Anderson and Frederick Anderson Sr. Fred graduated from Waite High School in 1985.
Fred spent time in the Steel Industry working at Pre Finish Metals, Walbridge OH and at Worthington Steel, Delta OH. In 2004 he started work at CSX Transportation as a Carman and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carman.
Throughout his life he has enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, hunting, brief periods with motorcycles and faithfully cheering on the Pittsburg Steelers. All of these activities would have meant nothing to him, if they would not have been shared with his many tremendous friends.
Fred was a fierce fighter for what he thought was right. He also had a clear understanding of the struggles of life yet still appreciated the opportunity to live each day. He had an undying love for his son and wife and they will walk through the remainder of their lives knowing that he is with them.
Fred leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Amy; son, Frederick; father, Frederick Merlin Anderson Sr.; siblings, Dorothy "Dottie" (Mike) Kalisik (Anderson) and Gerald (Jerry) Anderson; nieces and nephew, Ashley Thomas, Tony Kalisik, Jenn Vajen and Kelsey Kalisik.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon.
There will be a Celebration of Life held Saturday, October 7th from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Eulogy at 3:00 PM, at the Catholic War Veterans Post 1675 located at 5919 Teletowne Dr. #4, Toledo, OH 43612.
