Franklin "Frank" Sondergeld

Frank Sondergeld, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2021. He was born October 17, 1938 in Rocky Ridge, Ohio to James and Annabelle (Schiewe) Sondergeld. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, JoAnne (Jesse), and brothers; James Jr. (Jim), Kenneth (Kenny), and Marvin Sondergeld. Frank is survived by his wife, Margaret (Hummer); sons Steven, John and Gary Sondergeld, step-children, Anna Elrod and Robert “Bob” Dixon; grandchildren, Heather, Joshua, Zachary, Makayla, Marie, Bradley, Alex, Mackenzie, Brandy, Tiffany, and Bobby Jo; great-grandchildren, Liam, Hannah, Conor, Colin, Lance, Maci, Ian, Elijah, Jace, and Mason; and his pet parrot “Boo”. A 1957 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. Frank was an Inspector with Dana Corporation for 35 years where he met his wife, Margaret. They were married February 14, 1975. Before retiring, Frank spent 12 years in Maintenance for Washington Local Schools. Frank enjoyed spending time with his bird and watching old television shows. His favorite was “The Andy Griffith Show”. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1930 Bradner Rd., Northwood, Ohio 43619.
