Frances Joan Minns, 86, of Lambertville, Michigan passed peacefully at UTMC on December 21, 2020. Frances was born on May 29, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio to Stephen and Mary (Halas) Mruzek who preceded her in death. A graduate of Woodward High School, Frances went on to work at Owens Corning. That all changed when she met James Minns, she said it was love at first sight. Their love story lasted nearly six decades. The two married in 1959 and had two children, James Jr. and Bradford, and celebrated 59 years before Jim’s passing in 2019. A devoted wife and mother, Frances believed we all traveled a path. She would often say, do not worry, it will all work out. Compassionate, generous, and strong, she always saw the best in everyone and handled life’s adversity with grace, humor, and a strong faith. Frances loved tennis. One of her greatest joys was watching her sons play tennis competitively. She loved even more when the family took to the court to play a great doubles match. She enjoyed spending time vacationing with family in Hilton Head and Sanibel Island, and reading Christian inspirational books. Frances loved spending time with her lifelong friends, whether it be a phone call or a monthly lunch visit. She was a happy person and relished life. She is survived by her son, James Minns, Jr. of Lambertville, MI; son, Bradford (Ginny) of Orlando, FL; sister, Dee Lowrie of Perrysburg; sister-in-law, Judy Kays of Coral Gables, FL; sister-in-law Nancy Minns of Toledo; and her many nephews and nieces. Services for Frances will be private. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the University of Toledo Medical Center for their outstanding compassion and care of Mom.
