Evelyn Mildred Seguin , 96, of Toledo, Ohio died peacefully on May 29, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Toledo. Evelyn was born to Frank and Margaret (Fetzer) LaPlant in Toledo where she lived her life with the exception of the years she lived in Columbus , Ohio (1969-1999). Evelyn was one of eleven siblings, she worked during the War at Overland Jeep while waiting for her beloved Ralph Joseph Seguin (1921-2004) to come home from the Navy. They were married in 1946 until his death. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, a gifted seamstress, cook, card player ,gardener and enjoyed her artistic talents and volunteering. She had an appreciation of nature, which she nurtured with years of camping trips throughout the US. She enjoyed and visited multiple National Parks with Ralph on their many trips. Evelyn enjoyed her Toledo home near her son and family , and spent some of the winter months with her daughters in California and Florida. First and foremost for Evelyn was her love of God and for her family. She attended St. Pauls Lutheran Church both in her childhood and as an adult She was the sweetest and most beloved mother, sister , daughter and grandmother. She is survived by her children Renee (Richard) Caldwell of Oceanside,CA, Ronald ( Patricia) Seguin of Sylvania, OH and Marilyn (Ronald) Bastron of Tavernier, FL. Grandchildren Zachary Seguin, Amanda (Jim) Gagliano, Kristopher, James ( Danielle ) ,Alessa and Wyatt Bastron . Great grandchildren Ben and Hannah Bastron and James and Nicolas Gagliano and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins. She was especially close to her nephew Frank LaPlant who was like a brother to her. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Frank, Tom, Carl, Ralph, Jim, Clarence , Kathryn, Betty, Marge and Florence. Evelyn will be greatly missed by her family for whom she has always been a guiding light. We take comfort in knowing she is at peace in Heaven greeted by her loved ones who went before her. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
