Eva D. Cortright

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eva Cortright (Green) originally of Clinton Michigan on August 3, 2025.

Eva had been retired for over 10 years at the time of her death. Prior to her retirement, Eva spent her career working at the Ann Arbor VAMC. She was endlessly dedicated to the goal of improving the lives of the veterans she loved. She was a lifelong lover of animals (Boston Terriers most of all) puzzles and reading absolutely anything she could get her hands on.

Eva was a shy being who hid it with her sarcastic wit, a quick mind, and a generous heart. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those who needed her. She will live on in the memories and hearts of those who loved her best.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Cortight; her parents, Thelma and Herman Green; her brother, Stan Green; and her stepdaughter, Carole Anderson.

She is survived by her son, Christopher [Katrina] Cortright; daughter, Faith Penix; her grandsons, Conor and Jim (Lydia) Penix: and her dearest friend, Sharon Walker.

No service is currently planned. Per her request, she will be placed to rest with her husband.
