Esther Marie Romans

Esther M. Romans, age 89, of Toledo, passed away July 6, 2011 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital in the Emergency Room. She was born on February 12, 1922, in Los Angeles, CA to Cecil and Jeanette (DeLisle) Davison. Esther graduated from high school in 1940 and in 1942, married Leonard Romans. She was very proud of the fact that she was the great-great-great-great granddaughter of Frenchman Rouget DeLisle , who wrote the French National Anthem in 1792. She always looked forward to her yearly trips to Florida. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, in 1989, and a son, Charles Romans in 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Robin (Jim) DeVerna; siblings: Robert (Skip) Davison, Willard (Jayne) Davison. Margie Jay, and Jeanne Walker; grandchildren Brian and Ben DeVerna, Jason and Christopher Romans and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
