Elsie F. Souza

Elsie Frances Souza (Jennings) passed away May 1, 2022 in Toledo, OH surrounded by family. She was born October 18, 1942, and grew up in Somerville, MA. Elsie had a long and eventful life. She was a mother at a young age and against all odds she went on to become a Registered Nurse, Director of Nursing, Licensed Massage Therapist, and a Business owner. She loved spending her time crocheting, sewing, singing and enjoying time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her friends at the YMCA. Elsie is survived by her pride and joy, her children: Karen J. Souza of Toledo, OH, Frances Heath of Fremont, OH, Kenneth Souza of South Carolina, Wayne A. (Denise) Souza of Sandusky OH, Stephanie (Steven Stanley) Souza, of Toledo, OH, Paul M. Souza of Bellevue, OH, and Danielle M. (Quentin) Snively of Medford, MA; her siblings: Mary Wilson of Italy, David Jennings of Bellevue, Washington and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Elsie Jennings, and son Lawrence M. Souza Elsie was a generous person with a great sense of humor and will be remembered for the important role she played in the lives of everyone close to her. At Elsie’s request there will be no funeral or memorial service. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation in Elsie’s name to your local woman’s shelter.
