Elizabeth Bedwell Colony

Elizabeth Bedwell Colony was born on May 25, 1988 and died at home on September 8, 2012, from complications of Friedreichs Ataxia. She was the beloved daughter of James and Barbara Colony, the older sister of Olivia Colony and Charles Colony, and the granddaughter of Ronald and Marcella Grathwol, Selma Colony, and the late David Colony. Lizzie was a life-long Toledoan who attended Old Orchard Elementary School, graduated from Start High School, and attended the University of Toledo until her illness prevented her from completing her coursework. She weathered many adversities in her short life with humor and dignity, and will be greatly missed by family and friends. A memorial service in Lizs honor will be held on Friday, September 14 at 4 PM at The University Church, 4747 Hill Ave., Toledo, where she enjoyed wonderful, peaceful hours. Evenings spent at the church meant so much to her that the family suggests any memorials to Liz be in the form of a donation to The University Church. Many thanks go to the cheerful caregivers of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Thanks also to Jenna McNally of Comfort Keepers who provided friendly, comforting aid and to Dr. Kelly Emch for many years of compassionate care.
