Elizabeth Jones Clement

Elizabeth Jones Clement, widow of Carl Howard Clement, Jr., died peacefully on April 22, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.She was born in Radford, Virginia on November 18, 1922 to the late Thomas Mount and Louise (Henley) Jones. She graduated from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1943 and worked in the Corps of Engineers office at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where she met Clem . They were married in Radford in 1945 and moved to Perrysburg in 1946.Betty was an active volunteer with the First Presbyterian Church, the Perrysburg schools and Planned Parenthood. She was an avid bridge player and a somewhat reluctant sailor.In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband of 48 years and by her only sister, Dora Jones Anfin of Radford.She is survived by her four children, their spouses and families, Carl and Anne Clement of Lyme, Connecticut, Elizabeth and Donald Prutzman of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Thomas and Lynda Clement of Holland, Michigan, and Christopher and Terry Clement of Vancouver, Washington. She is also survived by her five granddaughters, Christina, McKenzie, Rachel, Henley, and Greer. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 or the First Presbyterian Church, Perrysburg, Ohio, 200 E. 2nd St, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.Burial will be private. There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of Toledo.
