Eleanor Laraby passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, February 11th after a long battle with an illness. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Eleanor was the matriarch for five generations, leading by example in every way from her first job at Jugs Bowling Lanes to managing Rays Party Store until achieving her goal of owning Buckeye Carryout. Eleanor enjoyed life to its fullest, passing on her knowledge with ease and teaching most of us her culinary genius and blessing us all with her family recipes. Eleanor was preceded in death by her sister Ann Sick, brother William Ziethlow, sister Lillian Scalia, husband Richard Laraby, daughter Sandra Laraby and son Timothy Laraby. Eleanor is survived by her sons, William R. and James E. Laraby; daughter, Sharon Laraby; sons-in-law, Ron Lucas and Leslie Smorowski. She is also survived by her many grand and great-grandchildren, Ray, Steve, Mike, Jaime, Josh, Heather, Jason, William E. Laraby, Jessica and Jayne Dunahoo, Anthony Lucas, Rianna Ward, Joshua Laraby-Fairfox and families, as well as a host of cousins and friends. Eleanor will be missed by many and our prayers are with her. May her and Sandy finally be holding hands again. That was her true last wish. There will be no formal funeral service, just a small service involving only family per her request. Friends and acquaintances are asked to remember her in your thoughts and prayers.
