Elaine Walterina Kosakowski, age 98, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at her home, where she received services from Hospice of Northwest Ohio for a short period.
Elaine was born on February 19, 1927, the daughter of Anthony and Irene Pawlinski, in Toledo, Ohio. She was raised in the LaGrange Street area Polish neighborhood and attended Woodward High School and was a parishioner of St. Adelbert’s Church. She later lived in Point Place, where she was a long-time resident.
In adulthood, she worked with a catering service and for several area businesses, as well as being a homemaker. She was a devoted and encouraging mother and wife, who enjoyed dancing to polish music, attending family gatherings, and decorating her home in her creatively personal style.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Daniel Kosakowski Sr; sister, Dolores Knaggs; granddaughter, Bridgette Duda; and nephew, Joey Knaggs. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Duda; son, Daniel Kosakowski Jr; grandchildren; Rick Duda, Gretchen Herbst, and Tanya Kosakowski; 10 great-grandchildren; and niece, Margo Droulliard.
