Eileen Copus

Eileen Ruffer Copus, 98, passed away at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, OH on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. She was born in Wauseon in 1921 to Juliet (Wyse) and Harold Ruffer. Eileen was a lifelong resident of Toledo and graduated from DeVilbiss High School. She worked for the DeVilbiss Co. during and after WWII and later worked for Gladieux Corp. She retired at 65 and then volunteered at Toledo Hospital mailroom until she was 91. Eileen was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, L.W.M.L., and enjoyed traveling with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Clon Ruffer; sister-in-law, Nancy Ruffer; and sister, Donna Rose Ruffer. Eileen is survived by her daughter, Karen Freytag; son-in-law, Max Freytag; grandchildren, Christopher and Joy Freytag; and great-grandchildren, Zoey and Max. In accordance to Eileen’s wishes, there will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ebeid Hospice of Sylvania or a charity of the donor’s choice.
