Edward Timothy Witt, known by all who loved him as Tim, passed away from this life on August 23rd, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Tim was born on April 5th, 1951 and was a resident of the Perrysburg/Waterville area for most of his life.
Tim lived life with the most generous, unselfish heart. Always ready to share fun times, he loved hanging out with his many good friends. Tim loved to travel. His journeys with family and friends took him from coast to coast, and from Alaska to Panama, from Columbia to Ireland, Costa Rica and the Caribbean Islands. His adventures included everything from deep sea fishing in the Keys to dog sled racing in Alaska, and from kissing the Blarney stone to hiking in Estes Park with his son, Henry. One of Tim’s favorite places to visit was anywhere on the west coast of Mexico, and we’re pretty sure John has a seat with a drink waiting at beach bar in heaven for Tim.
A self-made man, Tim worked hard and was very successful in his career as a mechanical contracting project manager, eventually owing his own company. He had immense respect for the crews on his jobs, always saying he was only successful because of them. Along the way he built and treasured many lasting relationships.
Tim is survived by his son, Henry Witt of Findlay; daughter, Mary Patricia; grandchildren, Elena Smith and Caden Smith; brothers, Dan Witt and Chris Witt; sister, Marissa Dick; and Abby, Tricia, Beth and the gang at Shawn’s Tavern in Waterville.
A celebration of life with family and friends will be held at a later date.
