Edward P. King III, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at home, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Toledo on September 23, 1961 to Edward and Pauline (McCrea) King, Jr. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Maier), and father to his Precious Angel Baby, Honey Bunny Kisser Kid - Melissa Sue; cherished by his sister Karen (Mike) Dibling, nephew, Matthew, and nieces Ashley and Nicole Dibling. Left behind to treasure “Eddie Pauls” memory is his mother-in-law Anna C. Maier-Sugg, Aunt Beverly McCrea, and his Indiana family - Uncle Mike McCrea and Aunt Linda McCrea, and numerous McCrea cousins and second cousins. In addition, his Toledo family - Uncle Fred and Aunt Beverly King and the extended King family of beloved cousins and second cousins are left to recall fun times and his unique, yet loving sense of humor and big hugs. Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Megan Elizabeth, and his beloved grandparents, Dorothy and Wade McCrea and Edward and Leona King; father-in-law Henry J. Maier and Robert D. Sugg; and loving Aunts, Uncles and cousin, JoAnne and Jim Hooven, Bettie and Gene Hamman, Wayne McCrea, and Martha Messina.Ed was a Telecommunications Project Manager with Nexius Solutions most recently, and Wireless Facilities, Inc previously. He loved and thrived in his job; succeeding fully through his dedication, loyalty and work ethic, garnering respect and friendship from his many employees, colleagues, upper management members, and customers. Ed was an avid golfer and fisherman, recently winning first place in one of the FLWs Walleye League Tournaments. He also enjoyed a run at the poker and craps tables at any number of casinos he made a point of visiting as his frequent travels allowed. Ed was an enthusiastic snowmobiler; and while the Midwest winters and chemotherapy regimen the last two years didnt offer him an opportunity to sled, his passion for the sport endured. He looked forward to, and energetically planned his annual snowmobiling trip to Maine with his friends. While many have been praying for him and his health over the last two years, his prayer was always for snow. And although it was planned, he didnt get to check that one last snowmobile ride off his bucket list. And yet, as he began his transition to his next adventure late on Friday, February 1st; the snow did begin to fall here in Northwest Ohio and continued until Tuesday, February 5th. Ed was cherished by many and will be remembered for his love of life and ever present sense of humor. Family came first with him and integrity and honesty were his hallmark in his business life. He loved bad sci-fi, war, comedy, and old black and white movies. He loved his dogs: Lola, Dharma, and Dj, and had a special and unique relationship with his mean cat, Tigger. He grudgingly tolerated Missys cat Trouble. Ed was a man who will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held at Brandywine Country Club in Maumee, on February 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Per Eds request, it will be a party in his honor. The family would like to thank his nurse Katie and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their exceptional support, comfort and care. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be sent to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 in Eds name.
