Edna Maria Alvarez

Edna Maria Alvarez passed away in a tragic automobile accident Monday, February 20, 2023 at the age of 72. Edna was born on September 12, 1950, in Puerto Rico.

In 1954, she moved to the Toledo area where she graduated from DeVilbiss High school. Edna worked proudly at the Toledo Spaghetti Warehouse for nearly 20 years. Edna spent a good portion of her life participating in events and enjoying free time with her friends of the deaf community whom she loved dearly. When she was not shopping, she loved gardening and being outside.

Edna is survived by daughters Maria (Jon) Brasel of Pemberville, Ohio, Rosa (Benjamin) Quaintance of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother, Victor Alvarez of Toledo Ohio; sister, Millie (Bob) Gentner of Point Place, Ohio; grandchildren, Mikayla & Kiya Alvarez, Faith, Chloe, Paisley & Brantley Brasel, and Jasper and Magnolia Quaintance; nephews, Vic Alvarez, David Alvarez and Zach (Nikki) Alvarez, and niece, Julia (Zack) Fletcher. She was preceded in death by her long-life companion, John C. Elrod; son, Carlos Antonio Alvarez, and parents, Ermelindo & Rosalina Alvarez.

Celebration of life services will be held at Christ’s Church in Bowling Green Sunday February 26, 2023, at 4 pm with fellowship immediately following. Contributions in Edna’s memory in lieu of flowers are much appreciated at fundraiser Go Fund me website https://gofund.me/1660ce26.
