Edith A. Scsavnicki

Edith “Edie” (Fry) Scsavnicki, age 67, from Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025, at her home in Toledo. She was born on September 4, 1957, in Fostoria, OH. Edie was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Alice Fry; brothers, Daniel, David, Delbert; and sister in law, Charlotte Fry-Tarbox.

Edie is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Scsavnicki; brother, Daryl (Cherie) Fry; sister, Elaine (Mitchell) Bennett; and many nieces and nephews.

Edie would be described as simply the best. She was adored by all who met her. She was considered a second mom to her nieces and nephews, a partner in crime and a safe place in a noisy world—a steady source of love, laughter, and light. Her hugs could mend anything, and her green cup was always close by, full of sweet tea, Diet Coke and comfort. She taught us to love without limits, to laugh without reason, and to never turn down a water fight or a Fry-Family adventure.

With warmth, wisdom, and a sparkle of mischief, she made ordinary days unforgettable. For over 40 years, she shaped young hearts in early childhood education, touching countless lives with her gentle strength. She helped raise us with patience and boundless love—and our gratitude is immeasurable.

The family would like to thank the staff at Residential Home Health and Hospice for their kindness and care and a special thank you to her nephew, David Fry, who selflessly cared for her and ensured that her last days were filled with love and a few laughs.

Edie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of love, loyalty, wit and humor will live on through the generations she cherished. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
