Douglas Elwin Thebeau

Douglas E. Thebeau, 62 of Ottawa Lake, MI., passed away peacefully Monday, April 27, 2026, surrounded with love after a brief battle with CHF. Douglas was the son of Harold & Margarite (Hayward) Thebeau Jr.

Douglas graduated from Whiteford Agricultural School In 1981. He also went to trade school for HVAC and Refer Refrigeration. He worked at Clean Tech Recycling Inc. in Dundee, MI, for seventeen years as a forklift operator.

Douglas was a passionate Walleye fan. He loved going to the games as often as possible. He also loved going for rides in the summer on his Harley "Isabella". When not riding he was shining her up in his spare time.

Douglas leaves behind his beloved dog, Loki; sons, Alex (Lynsey Bowden) Thebeau and Cody Thebeau. He is also survived by his father, Harold (Pam Wickham) Thebeau Jr.; sister, Vickie (Todd) Keith); brothers, Rodger Thebeau and Terry (Sue) Thebeau; and his twin sister, Kimberly (Brian) Hall, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Douglas was preceded in death by his mother, Margarite (Hayward) Thebeau in 2011.

Douglas did not want to have a special service, only to be cremated and to go for a last ride on a motorcycle and to have his ashes spread in a beautiful spot. Those plans will be made, at a later date this summer.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit for the wonderful and thoughtful care they provided for Douglas.
