Douglas M. Hojnacki

Douglas M. Hojnacki , 68 of Toledo, OH passed away peacefully the morning of February 14th, 2021 surrounded by family after a long struggle with multiple health issues. He was born on August 7th, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio, where he was raised with his four brothers. He later moved to Syracuse, NY where he went on to get a degree in Sociology from LeMoyne College, and then a double Master’s degree in Public Administration and Sociology from Syracuse University. He is predeceased by his mother, Catherine (Bulger) Hojnacki and father, Frank Hojnacki. He is survived by his loving husband of 23 years, James Baird; daughters, Julia (Shawn) Waybright and Marian (Ammiel) Fernandez. He is also survived by his four grandchildren who he adored, Isabella, Ethan, Maximus and Sophia, along with his brothers, Bruce (Chris) Hojnacki, Richard (Sue) Hojnacki, Francis (Veronique Swofford), and Kenneth (Susan) Hojnacki, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank the nurses at Gen 7, ProMedica Toledo Hospital for their wonderful care, and the staff at Promedica Ebeid Hospice Residence for the compassion and comfort that they showed, not just to Doug, but to all of his family. A Mass and Celebration of Doug's Life will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner Street, Walbridge, OH at 10:00 am.
