Dorothy J. Baker

Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Baker passed away on September 7, 2022, (from a massive stroke) at the age of 83 years old. She grew up enjoying farm life with her five siblings which helped her to develop a good sense of humor and a forgiving nature. As a member of the Oak Harbor congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she was known throughout Ottawa County as an avid bible teacher. She loved spending time bass fishing and camping with her husband and family. Playing canasta with her grandchildren brought her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Carl; a grandson, Matthew; and her siblings, Fred aka "Bill", Bob, Barb, Dick, and Betty.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Bruce), Tom (Racheal), Ed (Yvonne) and David; grandchildren, Charlene (Gary), Tom, Hannah (Cole) and Eva Josephine; four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Gary, Carl, and Marla; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Stein Hospice in enabling us to make her last few days at home comfortable. Per Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. If you would like to make any donations in Dottie’s memory, please send to Steinhospice.org or JW.org.
