Donna J. Spurgeon passed away Sunday afternoon, June 29th, at the age of 83. She passed peacefully in her sleep at home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth; husband, Don; two bothers, David and Randy; and a plethora of dogs she owned, Duke 1 and 2, Taco, Teddy, Huk, Shelby, and Zoey.
Donna resided in Toledo, Ohio for most of her life. She was a graduate of Scott High School in 1959. Donna then transitioned into working at Champion before starting her career at Black and White Cab Company. She'd retire from there as a dispatcher 25+ years later.
Despite having some tough years when she was younger, Donna grew into a very supportive mother and grandmother in the latter half of her life, proving that people can change. She wasn't always the best at expressing her feelings, but was always there to lend an ear and help her loved ones in any way she could. Donna had many things she enjoyed in life and will be remembered for. She loved playing cards and going out for bingo with her friends, taking her grandkids out on different adventures, cooking, watching her soaps and game shows, and taking late night inebriated swims in her pool. Donna always enjoyed singing along to and listening to music, specifically Queen and Neil Diamond.
Donna is survived by her three daughters, Laura, Shelly and Jodie; four grandkids, Dylon, Dallas, Asia, and Randy; two great granddaughters, Scarlett and Scarlett; and her dog, Buddy. Per her request, there will be no official service. There will be a small, private celebration of life at some point in the future. Please contact Dylon or Laura for more details.
