Donald Stevens Geer

Donald “Don” Stevens Geer, age 89, “passed peacefully in hospice on December 3, 2017 in Perrysburg, Ohio. Mr. Geer was born on May 28, 1928 in Logan, Ohio, the son of Harold C. and Florence E. Geer. He graduated from Ottawa Hills High School and attended Toledo Universitys College of Business Administration. He married Joanna Gebhard in 1954. Don served in the United States Army and also the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1959. After his time in the service, the Geers lived in Florida, later relocating to the Northwest Ohio area where Don worked in the home remolding industry and Joanna later worked for the City of Toledo, Department of Public Utilities. He retired in 1993 and pursued his joy walking, having fun with his family and spending time daily with Joanna. Mr. Geer loved to fish with his son Harold and friends as well as his grandsons. He shared his passion for baseball with his sons, Donald and Harold, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Don especially enjoyed playing cards with his entire family and was a life-long dog lover. Mr. Geer is survived by his ex-wife Joanna Geer; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and James Parent of Perrysburg, Ohio; his son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Debbie Geer of Cape Coral, Florida; his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Vickie Geer of Maumee, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Geer will be cremated on December 8, 2017. A memorial will take place at a future date with Joanna, where Dons life will be celebrated.
